An 8.15am start is available all days, which is great for working parents. We follow the term dates of the primary school calendar each year and are closed during school holidays. Parents and whānau are welcome to stay for as long as you like, especially when they are settling in to their new preschool. Children can start at 2 and a half years. Please get in touch to find out about our waitlist. |
20 ECE HOURS are available for 2.5 year olds to 6 year olds for a maximum of 6 hours per day.
To discuss hours, availability and fees please send us a message, pop in and visit or call us on 07 362 8606. Settling In Children The initial days of attendance can be unsettling for both child and parent. The teachers will support you both in this transition. Prior to beginning preschool you will be invited to attend sessions with your child to begin the initial transition process if you wish. At the official starting date you are encouraged to stay until your child is happy to be left with the teachers. Preschool is an accredited (July 2015) Breastfeeding Friendly environment to help support nursing mothers while visiting. |

Two out of my four children were lucky enough attend Lake Ōkāreka Preschool. It’s an incredible place, the facility is welcoming and always warm, the outdoor area is lovely and shaded but it’s the teachers that make it what it is. Leslie and Davina have been amazing, their love for teaching children, their open minds to trying new things, the gentle way they guide children is amazing. Watching my daughter ‘graduate’ from Lake Ōkāreka Preschool in May was so special. Seeing how my daughter set goals and the teachers encouraged her to continue with them and master them. Rebecca can now do all the Monkey Bars. Even recently at school she told her teacher her skill was that she cold ‘build a wooden tiger’ - Thanks Davina and Leslie! If you are thinking of sending your child to a warm, loving ECE facility you won’t find anywhere better than Lake Ōkāreka Preschool. Thank you for everything ladies. Michelle Herrick, 2022
