My experience working with children and their families comprises of 30 years including nearly eight years in this wonderful lakeside setting at Lake Okareka Preschool. I love the diversity of working in early childhood education – every child is unique and no one day is the same as the last.
Education is important to me including my studies through Massey Univeristy, Open Polytechnic of NZ and the University of Canterbury. I am always looking for chances to up-skill so that the children at Lake Okareka Preschool continue to receive the best early childhood education available.
As Centre Manager and teacher for Lake Okareka Preschool, I am responsible for our education programmes and the day-to-day running of the preschool. I work closely with our Board of Trustees which is responsible for governance of the service. The stability in our teaching team is something that I am proud of as well as the whole team’s commitment to achieving an optimum learning environment.
It is hugely important to me that Lake Okareka Preschool provides a welcoming and supportive environment where children are encouraged to take a lead in their learning. I believe in growing our children’s’ interests through fun and stimulating learning experiences.
